Damn, said the 49 yr old white broad living in Wisconsin formerly from St Louis and Chicago, fated to the midwest, DAMN! Who is this Bonafide Rojas and what is this beauty flowing from him?
A recent convert to Def Poetry Jam and many times overwhelmed by the angst, the rage, the emotion, the humor and the beauty of the words spoken here, I thank Time Warner for HBO on Demand, grabbed my pale ale in its frosty pint, and headed to the chair to hear last night's offerings. This one came and that and then the bushy Bonafide....
rewind.... Again!...rewind...Again!...rewind... Again!
I grabbed my chest each time, I caught my breath each time, I cried each time...FUCK YOU FOR GIVING UP ON ME! (forgive if I misquote).
Had your words not moved me your actions at the end would have. Children are so powerful and our responsibility so huge. Damn...she says again remembering....damn....Beautiful....
Peace

So every Sunday I tune in to Def Poetry and so far I have been impressed. I am not a spoken word artist and don't know much about the art. I just write to breathe...Anyhow I just wanted to say that your poem made me cry and not because you choked up but I felt sincerity in your voice. I want a poem that is from the heart, I want a poem whose lyrics reveal honesty, I want a poem that makes me feel fragile. There is no shame in showing emotion. Keep doing your thing cause you rocked....

I know this comment is hella late but I MUST say this:
When I saw you, damn, your poem touched me so deeply I cried. I grabbed my remote and programmed it so I could watch it again because your performance was so gawd damn good. I watched it a total of four times and all four times I cried. I just wanted to let you know that your words were beautiful and your words are forever etched into my mind. Thank you for sharing your poem with the world.
