i carry more thing in my bag
than anyone i know
and now i'm carrying that
cool debate/doctors bag (whatever it is)
which means i can carry more things
which means i will blow my arm out
by friday which means "sorry john daddy's arm is broken"
you'll have to start walking real well right now

im in a real pissed off mood
but i felt i should write something
light-hearted for the people
who think everythign is okay

nothing to fear
nothing to doubt

in a few hours
it will officially be John's birthday
at 9 pm last year today
it's been one year from that day (obviously)

i'm still trying to figure out
how a year has gone by so fast
he was born 6 lbs-14 oz
and the dirty mac is almost 20+ lbs

he's a crawling machine
thinking the pillows i set up
are mountains for him to climb
he has alot of energy

so today is his first birthday
i remember mine like it was yesterday
kings, queens, princes, princesses
all attended...oh wait that was the gay ball

so in this coming year
he'll start walking, talking and drooling
even more than now
i can't wait, he'll build better attention span

and really start to flourish
into the genius that we know he is
so i brought him a bunch of gifts
it's weird though the whole time

i'm thinking "He'll love this, He'll hate that"
but what if what i think he hates he loves
and vice versa, no matter in a month's time
he'll start playing with mud

in the past week
i finally solidified the line up for
The Mona Passage

i'm really excited Raze (Guitars, Backing Vocals),
Pete (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Jason (Drums)
but Kwame (Keys, Piano, PErcussion) is still MIA
hopefully he's crawl from under his rock

i think he's a great piano/keyboard player
and will really add a different dimension
to the music that i've been looking for

but i am excited and will keep you posted
Bonafide Rojas (Guitars, Bass, Vocals)

friday afternoon
day is slow
music still pounding in my head
people complaining about
my disappearing act
it should make them

appreaciate what is important in life like
maccaroni and cheese or eggs
over easy, there are alot of options
right right continuing with delicious
edible foods because i like to eat
seriously i may be thin but i have been eating
something terrible, i need to stop
i need to go to the gym
carry my stomach over my shoulder
and you 'll need to accept that

not expect my to change
life is new everyday

i'm tried falling alsepp
until tomorrow
there is much catching up on sleeping
tonight seems good

the first day
the last few weeks have been rollercoasting
Yanks lose to Sox
Sox kicks Cards ass
Sox Win
Disney commercial

the first day
the last few days have been blurry
trying to play the music in my head
four track is busted in think
have to borrow another one
the music is getting louder
needs to go somewhere

the first day
the last couple of months
my writing is non-existent
the songwriting has taken over the poetry
i have very different ways of writing
songs and poems
i know songs can't be 3 pages longs
as much as i like Bob Dylan
i am not him

the first day
the next few weeks
i need to have something substantial in my hand
be it a shitty cassette tape with me playing everything
with the bass too loud and the guitar out of tune
and the drums a horrible loop i worked on too long
and the vocals are shot because the microphone sucks
awww i love progressive rock DIY music
such an oxymoron because of the history of prog

the first day
is sixteen days away from John's birthday
can't believe it's been almost a year
this year has been different from the last two years
just location in general
i love being back in NYC even if i am a relcuse sometimes
i think i would of killed myself
if i would've gone through another Chicago winter
those bastards are rough

the first day
of November
and the weather is unseasonally warm
and the music is loud
and the smiles are wide
and everything will get better

Bonafide Rojas
a piper at the gates of dawn
